I train all year around. It’s a lifestyle that I have grown to love. Once you set into that lifestyle, training actively almost becomes an addiction. Although I’m active through out the year, my triathlon training plan usually starts in October and lasts until late Summer.
My Annual Training Hours
To make sure I don’t burn out and that I physically peak in the right time I always create an Annual Training Plan (ATP). I use the standard periodization approach of Base, Build, Peak and Race. It works very well for me. I know what I need to do each month, each week and even each day to reach my goals.
